High Protein Bread Sticks Snack

When we say you should not eat this, then we especially get extra cravings on that thing. We got a solution. As you know breads are no no for high protein diet, Ideal Protein say no to any breads because of High Carbs.Here we made High Protein - Low Carb bread sticks which are suitable for this diet.This can be eaten as snack or side to soup or any extra protein requirement we can add few sticks to meal and increase protein, each sticks yields about 2.5 g~3 g protein.See here how you can make these .

Ingredients:

Tova Carbalose Flour - 100g
• Rapid Rise Yeast - 1/2 pkt
• Warm Water(85° F) - 70 ml
• Sugar - 1/4 tsp
• Light Salt - 1/4 tsp
• Olive Oil - 1 tsp
Simply Asia Sweet Ginger Garlic Seasoning - 1~2 tsp (Optional).

Preparation:

  1. You need all purpose flour to make bread sticks, but you can't use all purpose flour because of high carbs. So you need to use equivalant version of low carb four like Tova Carbalose Flour. This flour has low in carbs, high in protein and lot of fiber. You also need Yeast for as raising agent then topping it is optional you can use this Simply Asia Sweet Ginger Garlic Seasoning or you can ignore Seasoning..
  2. Weigh 100g of Tova Carbalose Flour and set a side. Then in in bowl add 1/4 tsp of Sugar, 1/2 pkt of RapidRise Yeast(about 3.5g) and 70ml of warm water, mix all these well until dissolved.
  3. Now mix 1 tsp of Olive/Grape Seed oil and 1/4 tsp Light Salt and then add 100g of flour and make soft dough.
  4. Cover the dough with damp cloth or damp paper towel and leave it for about 1hr until dough raise about double.
  5. Pre-Heat oven to 325° F. And roll dough and cut into 10~12 equal pieces then roll each piece shown as below like straw/stick, in a plate spread Seasoning mix and roll dough stick in that plate then trasfer to backing sheet, reapet this step for all dough pieces. Once finished put baking tray in oven for 30min and watch in between until it's done.
  6. Your Protein Bread Sticks are read to enjoy!!. Total 100g dough has 31g protein so divide total number of sticks to get protein per Stick. Ex: If you made dough into 10 pieces then it's 3g protein per stick. You can eat 5 sticks for snack which gives 15g of protein.
  7. IDEA: Bread Sticks goes well with any soup. So you can add 2~3 protein bread sticks to this Cream of Vegetable High Protein Diet Soup and make complete protein meal for lunch/dinner.
